The peel of orange is of great cosmetic value whether from inside or outside. So to whiten the teeth, the inside of the peel can be rubbed to the teeth, and the teeth can then be rinsed after 10 minutes. Regular use of orange peel will result in shiny teeth and a radiant smile.
Rubbing the bark of the walnut is also an effective home remedy. Crushed walnut too can be used to cleanse teeth as it keeps the teeth free from bacteria. The ash of hard wood, and not soft wood, can be rubbed slowly on the teeth and washed off later to give excellent results. The villagers still brush their teeth this way and seldom have tooth problems.
Eating raw carrots and apples cleanses the teeth completely and leaves one with a gleaming smile.
Rinsing the teeth with water after having tea or coffee reduces the harm caused to the teeth, as it prevents the beverages from depositing on the teeth.
A paste can be formed by taking a few leaves of basil and rind of orange, and can be applied on the teeth to give successful results.
Extremely hot or extremely cold liquids cause harm to the teeth. So there is no better home remedy for teeth whitening than avoiding food or liquid with extreme temperatures.
The teeth should not be scratched with nails or pins or any other objects to remove food particles, as this destroys the enamel of the teeth and causes great harm. A balanced diet along with raw vegetables, sprouts, and fresh fruits is sure to keep the teeth strong and white in the long run.
